Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Riau Police Chief, Inspector General Mohammad Iqbal, stated that Event Tour de Siak 2022, that was started on 1-4 December 2022, was going successfully. The event, which divided into three etape, or stages, was held at Siak City with a track length of 85 km for the first stage. The second stage was trekking from Siak to Pekanbaru with a track length of 130 km, while the final stage was held at Pekanbaru City with a track length of 119 km. The event was held successfully, although there are still minor disturbances along the way.
“I appreciate the community of Pekanbaru city, although this is our first time experiencing this kind of event (event Tour de Siak). Imagine the traffic as the bloodstream of Pekanbaru city, and for three hours it was closed. Thankfully, the community understand the circumstances and used other alternative roads,” said Riau Police Chief, quoted from riau.go.id, Sunday (12/4).
It was reported that the Event Tour de Siak is a yearly event that was held at Siak Regency, which attended by domestic and international athletes. The event is part of government program in promoting Siak as tourist destination.
“Honestly, we have promoted it non-stop and I think we will continue to do so until next year,” said Riau Police Chief.
