Yogyakarta Regional Police Forms Task Force Related to Cash Aid Funds for Street Vendors and Stalls

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Yogyakarta. The Yogyakarta (DIY) Regional Police formed a Task Force team to distribute government cash assistance to street vendors and stalls. The Task Force, under the command of the Deputy Chief of Yogyakarta Regional Police, Brigadier General Slamet Santoso, has distributed aid to 2,211 street vendors and stalls.

The Head of Public Relations of the Yogyakarta Regional Police, Pol. Grand Commissioner Yuliyanto explained that the government distributed IDR 1.2 trillion in cash assistance to micro-business actors, especially street vendors outside President's Assistance for Productive Micro Enterprises. They were affected by Covid-19, which were distributed by the National Armed Forces and National Police. This activity is carried out throughout Indonesia with 500 thousand people in 141 districts/cities. "The Yogyakarta Regional Police is targeting to distribute 18,500 cash assistance, the implementation of which is carried out at the Polres level by involving Bhabinkamtibkas for sending invitations and checking their identity and NIK," said the Intermediate Officer of the Yogyakarta Regional Police.

Pol. Grand Commissioner Yuliyanto explained that the cash assistance of IDR 1.2 million per person was given to informal micro/super micro business actors, namely street vendors and stalls. The distribution of this assistance is carried out for two months with a predetermined target number. So far, the DIY Regional Police have distributed around 2,211 cash assistance to street vendors and stalls. The data on street vendors and stalls were obtained collaborating with the Provincial and Regency/Municipal Office of Cooperatives and SMEs. Yuliyanto said that in anticipation of duplication, the distribution of cash assistance went through several stages that had to be passed and data matching, both application and manual.

Meanwhile, to avoid crowds of people, distribution is carried out according to the invitation given. Every day, on average, the police distribute around 50-100 aid.

"The distribution of cash assistance is currently ongoing, and in the future, it will continue to be distributed to street vendors and stalls affected by Covid-19. Hopefully, this assistance is useful and can reduce the burden on the community," concluded the Head of Public Relations of the Yogyakarta Regional Police.
