Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Padang. The West Sumatra Regional Police noted that during the implementation of 2021 Ketupat Singgalang Operation, there had been 86 traffic accidents in various areas in West Sumatra.
Head of Public Affairs Division of the West Sumatra Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Stefanus Satake Bayu Setianto explained out of the 86 cases, 11 people involved in the accident were declared dead, eight people were seriously injured, and 130 people were slightly injured.
Further, during 2021 Ketupat Singgalang Operation held from April 16 to May 17, 2021, 1,770 vehicles were forced to make a U-turn by the West Sumatra Regional Police personnels. The vehicles that were forced to make a U-turn by officers were at 10 insulation posts of West Sumatera border. This action was taken as the anticipation of 1442 Eid homecoming.
Police found 8,657 homecomers came from various regions who were about to enter West Sumatra. Also, there were homecomers who would leave West Sumatra.
"Those whom we turned back did not meet the requirements to enter West Sumatra, namely logistical vehicles, in an emergency, on an official trip and showed negative antigen swab test result," Satake said, as quoted from InfoPublik, Sunday (05/30/21).
Stefanus Satake Bayu Setianto explained during 2021 Ketupat Singgalang Operation which was held by the West Sumatra Regional Police, the vehicles that most crossing the insulation post were four-wheeled vehicles or 960 private cars. Then, two-wheeled vehicles 549, 83 travel vehicles, 33 buses and 145 other vehicles.
"Vehicles for official purposes are 195 vehicles, homecomers who were sick, eight vehicles, pregnant homecomers three vehicles, and homecomers whose families have died were 12 vehicles," as said by the Intermediate Officer of West Sumatera Regional Police.
The Head of Public Affairs of West Sumatra Regional Police said the 2021 Ketupat Singgalang Operation had ended, but 10 insulation posts in several areas were extended until May 31, 2021.
"The objective is to check the reverse flow, check the Rapid antigen test and discipline the community towards health protocols," Police Grand Commissioner Stefanus Satake Bayu Setianto concluded.
