West Kalimantan Regional Police Name 21 Suspects in Case of Destruction of Ahmadiyya Mosque in Sintang District

Police officers from the West Kalimantan Regional Police and the Sintang Resort Police have succeeded in naming 21 peoples as suspects in the vandalism of the Ahmadiyya mosque in Sintang Regency, West Kalimantan. All suspects are detained at the West Kalimantan Regional Police.
"Of the 21 suspects, three are intellectual actors who mobilised the masses, while 18 others were the perpetrators of vandalising the Ahmadiyya mosque," said Head of Public Relations of the West Kalimantan Regional Police, Pol. Grand Commissioner Donny Charles Go, Tuesday (09/07/21).
The 21 suspects are local residents of Balai Harapan village, Temunak District, Sintang residents and Melawi residents who are not far from the place of work of the case.
"Most of the arrested suspects reside in Balai Harapan village which is not far from the scene," said Pol. Grand Commissioner Donny Charles Go
The police are currently still conducting intensive investigations and do not rule out the possibility of an increase in the number of suspects.
Of the 21 suspects, 18 peoples who commit vandalism will be charged with Article 170 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of more than five years in prison. As for the three suspected intellectual actors who provoked the masses, they will be charged with Article 160 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of six years in prison.
