West Java Regional Police Exposed Prakerja Card Forger Syndicate

Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Bandung. West Java Regional Police successfully exposed the Prakerja Card forger syndicate, which have been in operation for three years and took a profit of Rp18 billion. The Police raided and arrested four people, initialled AP, AE, RW, and WG. They were raided in a hotel in Bandung. "They earned Rp500 million monthly profit since 2019. The total profit is Rp18 billion", the Director of the Special Criminal Investigation of West Java Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Arief Rachman, said on Saturday (4/12/21).

Police Grand Commissioner Arief Rachman stated that this Prakerja Card forger syndicate had been operated since 2019. Their modus is hacking the citizenship database in regional Population and Civilian Records agencies.

"The perpetrators suspiciously uses illegal access to the population database to create fake Prakerja Card, the government's programme in National Economic Recovery", the Director of Special Crime Investigation said.

The discovery of this Prakerja Card forgery case by West Java Regional Police was started from many reports of population data leak and misappropriation and even sold freely.

Police Grand Commissioner Arief Rachman then explained that the syndicate worked by hacking the citizenship database in regional Population and Civilian Records agencies.

The gathered data was then sold online so it would be able to be entered into the Prakerja application to get money. Therefore, those things are the basis of the Police is investigation.

"The investigation and profiling results indicated that the data of the Prakerja Card maker syndicate are registered with the hacking data results to the Population and Civil Records Agency. The suspects are arrested with their evidence", the Director of Special Crime Investigation said.

The Prakerja Card forgery syndicate case is under investigation by the Directorate of Special Crime Investigation of West Java Regional Police. The perpetrators have been detained in West Java Regional Police.
