Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces, Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto; Chief of Indonesian National Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo; and Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, inspected mass vaccination and social aid distribution activities in Auditorium of Kulonprogo Cultural Park, Yogyakarta Special Region, on Saturday (21/8/2021). During the occasion, Sigit stated that the Indonesian government keep evaluating tiered PPKM (Community Activity Restriction Enforcement) implementation. With the routine assessment, the government have provided easing policies for people conducting their activities. "We know that there are easings on public activity so people could do their daily activities, especially those in the region with relaxed policies on downstream economic sectors. Then, some industries also saw relaxing policies from 50% to 75% capacity", Sigit said. Therefore, the former Chief of Banten Regional Police reminds people to prioritise Health Protocols with discipline during activity, mainly in economic sectors. According to Sigit, the implementation is one of the efforts to suppress Covid-19 transmission. "This, of course, carries a risk of interaction increase, so there is a chance of increasing Covid-19 transmission. Therefore, we advise that, in the middle of easing policies, people keep adhering to Health Protocols firmly. The face mask-wearing and limitation on regulations regarding locations with easing policies to obey the regulation issued by the government (Ministry of Home Affairs). Therefore, the potential on transmission could be suppressed", Sigit said. On the other side, relating to suppressing Coronavirus, Sigit emphasises that Armed Forces, Police, and all stakeholders would keep accelerating mass vaccination to achieve the herd immunity target set by the government. Therefore, Sigit asked unvaccinated people to come to vaccination outlets provided by Armed Forces, Police, and regional government without hesitations. With herd immunity, the economic sector would recover fast. "On one side, vaccination events become one event that we intensify in these weeks until the end of the year. We will improve the vaccination events", Sigit said. Meanwhile, Sigit asked people who tested positive for Coronavirus to get treated at the centralised isolation facilities (Isoter) because it has adequate facilities and health workers. "Then, there are also choices. Because people have to choose, we advise them to go to Isoter. We prepare shelters in subdistricts, districts, and regencies. I assure them that Isoter has better observation, health workers, and medicines than self-isolating", Sigit explained. Therefore, Sigit encouraged the Yogyakarta Special Region government and all elements to help campaign the people get treated at Isoter. The Isoter is also to protect the patient's family and relatives from Coronavirus. "Please help us on informing and campaigning this 'best choice' so that the people sick with Covid to recover quickly and the healthy ones could stay healthy. The requirements are Health Protocols must be obeyed well and get vaccinated", Sigit said. The vaccination and social aid distribution event in Kulonprogo Cultural Park targets the general public and teenagers aged between 12 to 17 and 2,500 vaccine doses. Meanwhile, 2,000 packages of social aid are being prepared to be distributed as well.
