Cianjur Death Toll Increased, Three Bodies Were Found by Joint Rescue Team

The death toll from the Cianjur earthquake, West Java, has increased again. On Saturday (12/3) three bodies were found, bringing the total death toll to 334 people.

Secretary of Cianjur Regency, Cecep Alamsyah, said the three bodies were found in two different locations.

"Two bodies were found in Cijedil and another was found in Warung Sate Sinta," explained the Secretary of Cianjur Regency.

The Secretary of Cianjur Regency said that until the 13th day after the earthquake, the search team was still searching the missing who might still buried under the rubble. Until now, there are eight people left to be found.

"Meanwhile, the number of the victims who are having serious injury is 593 people, and of those number, those who are still being treated at hospitals in Cianjur are 49 people," explained the Secretary of Cianjur Regency.

Head of the Earthquake and Tsunami Center of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), Daryono, said his party recorded 378 aftershocks in Cianjur, West Java. This earthquake was counted after the first hit until Saturday (3/12) at 07:00 WIB.

The head of the BMKG Earthquake and Tsunami Center said the strength of the earthquake in Cianjur was getting weaker. Then it was also noted that the frequency of earthquakes was getting rarer.
