Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Papua. A misunderstanding, combined with human anger or emotion, often caused harmful effects towards public security and order, just like the riot in Yahukimo, Papua, when the Kimyal tribe attacked the Yali tribe due to unconfirmed issues on what caused the death of the former regent, Abock Busup, in Jakarta.

Due to the incident, religious buildings were burned, six Yali people died, and thousands of people took refuge. Viewing the situation, the Noken Community Development Unit (Binmas Noken) of the Yahukimo region distributes mosquito net for the Yali tribe refugee after previously conducted a trauma healing session for the children and women of the Yali tribe.

The distribution was conducted on Friday, October 8, 2021, at 10.15 in Yahukimo Departmental Police. The event was attended by the personnel of Binmas Noken: Police Inspector 1st Class Joni Linggi, Police Chief Brigadier I Gusti Komang Jaya, and Police Brigadier 2nd Class Restu Alamsyah Athohari (Community Police Unit).

After the distribution, Binmas Noken advises the Yali refugees in Yahukimo Departmental Police Headquarter to stay calm and not to be influenced by unreliable issues.

The event was ended at 11.30. Many thanks came from the refugee with the hope that the incident never returned and peace could come again in Yahukimo between the tribes in the region.
