Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The West Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Investigation Unit destroyed hundreds of kilograms of drugs caught at the West Jakarta Resort Police Headquarters in the last two months. In addition, a number of drugs were destroyed using an incinerator.
Chief of West Jakarta Departemental Police, Police Grand Commissioner Ady Wibowo, said that from July to October 2021, his party secured 299 kilograms of marijuana and 27.1 kilograms of methamphetamine.
"Today, we will destroy a number of evidences consisting of marijuana weighing 299 kilograms and 27.1 kilograms of methamphetamine," said the Chief of West Jakarta Departemental Police.
The Chief of West Jakarta Departemental Police said the hundreds of kilograms of drugs were worth IDR 34 billion.
"Where if it is accumulated, this is worth IDR 34 billion on the black market there. And this has sufficient destructive power. Therefore, we can save about 1.3 million people through this action," continued the Chief of Departemental Police.
Hundreds of kilograms of drugs were obtained from 14 cases in various regions with various modes. The cases were obtained from the areas of Tangerang, Bogor, Central Jakarta, South Tangerang, Menteng, East Java Malang, Bekasi, Bukit Tinggi, and Jagakarsa.
Of the 14 cases, the police arrested 17 suspects. Among them are several suspects who are Foreign Nationals (WNA).
As a result of their actions, the suspects are subject to Article 114 Paragraph (2), Sub-Article 113 Paragraph (2), Sub-Article 112 Paragraph (2). Sub Article 111 paragraph (2) Junto Article 132 paragraph (1), UURI No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics. The threat of life imprisonment or imprisonment for a minimum of 6 years and a maximum of 20 years, or a maximum fine of IDR 10 billion.
