Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Traffic Corps of Indonesian National Police will change the colour of the Motorized Vehicle Numbers (TNKB) or vehicle number plates from black to white and the number from white to black starting next year. The replacement policy will be carried out in stages.
Head of the Subdirectorate for Vehicle registration (STNK)of the Traffic Corps of Indonesian National Police, Police Grand Commissioner Taslim Chairuddin explained that the Traffic Corps of Indonesian National Police had several considerations in implementing the regulation. One of them is considering the state budget for the procurement of new vehicle number plate materials.
"The first consideration is that in principle, the Traffic Corps follows the principles of state finances. So this year's budget is to be used next year," explained the Head of the Subdirectorate for STNK of Traffic Corps of Indonesian National Police, Friday (13/08/2021)
The second consideration is first to spend the old TNKB, which is still available in stock.
"Because the procurement of TNKB uses state money. Therefore, it must be spent first and cannot be thrown away," he explained further.
Third, because the TNKB or vehicle plate number has a value of Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) so that people are obliged to pay for it, therefore, TNKB cannot be exchanged just like that and must wait for the validity period to expire (five years) so that the community is not harmed.
"If the validity period has not expired, it is the people who are obliged to pay PNBP. If they are burdened, they feel sorry. The service uses for TKNB is five years. If it has only been replaced for two years, it will be disadvantaged," concluded Police Grand Commissioner Taslim.
With this consideration, the Traffic Corps of Indonesian National Police took a middle way by implementing a gradual replacement of vehicle number plates. The first stage uses up the old materials. Then they are used for new vehicles or vehicle registration certificates (STNK) that have expired (five-year STNK) or vehicles vehicle to change the name for the use of new residents.
The change in the primary colour of the vehicle number plate is contained in Police Regulation Number 7 of 2021, which was stipulated in Jakarta on May 5, 2021, and signed by the Chief of National Police.
