Papua Regional Police's Traffic Director, Pol. Grand Commissioner Mohamad Nasihin, said to avoid the development of Covid-19 in Papua before the implementation of the XX National Sports Week 2021, the police together with the Covid-19 Task Force from both the Province and the Regency will treat the odd-even implementation, especially in the 4 clusters that will be implemented by the XX National Sports Week 2021.
Papua Regional Police's Traffic Director asks people who use vehicles, both two-wheeled and four-wheeled, to be limited to crossing the road one day.
"This implementation is solely to suppress the rate of development of Covid-19 in areas with heavy traffic flow. This enforcement, starting from August 16 to August 31, will apply odd-even. Where the application is valid for one day with odd number plates, the next day it will be applied even," he explained.
For example, Traffic Director said, on odd dates it means that those who may enter the streets for odd police license plates, then those who are even may pass on even dates and this only applies to certain streets. For implementation in Jayapura City, there are 3 road points that The odd-even system will apply, namely Ahmad Yani street (Pos Sip) from Papua Bang to Triton Hotel.
Then Abepura street – Sentani (Post Pasar Youtefa) includes T-junction Ex. Wong Solo to the Lower Circle. Furthermore, Kelapa Dua Entrop street (Post in front of the Municipal Police Office) covers the Navy TL to the South Jayapura Regional Police.
Meanwhile, for Jayapura Regency, Odd-Even implementation is carried out on Jalan Sentani, Depapre which covers Bank Papua to Balai Trans (in front of the Borobudur Store). It is hoped that with this implementation at the end of August or early September the number of Covid-19 can decrease so that in the implementation of XX National Sports Week later the spread of covid-19 will be very sloping and the implementation of National Sports Week can run well.
“The odd-even application starts at 08.00 AM – 10.00 AM in the morning, 03.00 PM – 05.00 PM in the afternoon and 06.00 PM – 08.00 PM at night. The odd-even application itself is applied to individual vehicles, official vehicles, public transportation and goods, while the exempted vehicles are Ambulance/Body Delivery Cars, National Armed Forces and National Police Service Vehicles, and Public Transportation of People (on the route)," concluded the Traffic Director.
