In order to support the government's program to reduce the spread of Covid 19, the Directorate of Water and Air Police of the Yogyakarta Regional Police in collaboration with the Yogyakarta Regional Police's Medic and Health field by cooperating with the Yogyakarta Health Police and BRI Bantul branch, held the first dose of mass vaccine activity for the coastal communities of the South coast of Yogyakarta, Saturday (07/31/2021).
In his remarks, the Deputy Chief of theYogayakarta Regional Police Brigadier General. Pol. Raden Slamet Santoso, said that vaccination activities will be held for 2 days from July 31 to August 1, 2021. This is done to reduce the spread of Covid-19 because in Bantul Regency the number of confirmed positives is still high so vaccination activities are a way out for tackle the problem. In addition, this vaccination needs to be expanded so that the goal of realizing herd immunity is achieved and the number of Covid-19 cases continues to decline.
"Later on, the Director of Water and Air Police of the Yogyakarta Regional Police will be assisted by 5 (five) health workers who are Yogyakarta Health Polytechnic students to be assisted in this vaccination activity. In addition, there are also 5 (five) members of the Bantul Police's Health Matters and 10 young NCOs graduating in 2021. According to data There are, on average, around 700 more Bantul residents who are confirmed positive every day. For this reason, we are targeting the Bantul Regency area," added the Deputy Chief of the Yogyakarta Police.
"Today we are targeting 1300 vaccines and tomorrow 1300. Thank you to stakeholders (Urkes Bantul Police, Disaster Risk Reduction Forum / FPRB Bantul Regency, SAR Satlinmas Bantul Regency and PANTAS) who participated in supporting the implementation of this vaccination. Hopefully with the implementation of this vaccination activity We can realize herd immunity, which will improve the economy and minimize the spread of Covid 19 in the Bantul area so that people can carry out their activities as before," concluded the Deputy Head of the Yogyakarta Regional Police.
