Medical Units, Foods, to Ambulances Sent for the Cianjur Earthquake Refugees

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - The Indonesian National Police have sent their 54 Medical Unit personnel to Cianjur to aid the evacuation and handling process after the city was rocked by an earthquake, resulting hundreds of people died and hundreds more injured.

The Head of Indonesian National Police Public Relations, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo said that the personnel are consisted from the Indonesian National Police HQ and Bhayangkara Hospital, and also East Java Police Medical Unit. “They were sent on Tuesday, November 22nd, 2022, at 07:00 WIB,” he said in one of his statement, Wednesday (11/23).

He continued giving the details of the 54 medical unit sent to Cianjur. He stated that 14 medical personnel are from the National Police HQ, consisted of seven doctors, five nurses, and two non-medical personnel.

Bhayangkara Hospital sent their 10 officers where consist of four specialist doctors, four nurses, and two non-medical officers. “While East Java Police Medical Unit, they sent 21 personnel consist of three forensic specialist, one dentist radiologi specialist, three general doctors, three nurses,a pharmacist, and nine non-medical personnel,” said Inspector General Dedi.

From Bhayangkara Setukpa Hospital, they sent six general doctors, eight nurses, and four non-medical personnel. Other than sending their personnel, ten ambulances and two double cabin cars were dispatched to aid the handling process

“We will also build a health post in Cianjur as the crisis center. Those health post would be build in Bhayangkara Cianjur Hospital, Sayang Cianjur Hospital, Cimacan Ciapanas Hospital, and other spots that requires health service,” continued Inspector General Dedi.

The medical team that has been sent will also used surgery rooms, and adds another rooms for patients by building tents and orthopedy and children specialist.

Irjen. Pol. Dedi Prasetyo menuturkan, tim Dokkes juga akan mengoptimalkan kamar operasi, memperbanyak daya tampung pasien dengan menambah tenda, menambah dokter spesialis orthopedi dan anak.

“Then, we will visits the refugees, and evacuate the patients, coordinate our steps with Regional Disaster Management Agency and Regional Medical Office and other involved parties. We will also list the needs for Bhayangkara Cianjur Hospital to help them optimize their handling,” concluded Inspector General Dedi.
