Tribratnews.polri.go.id – Bandung. The West Java Regional Police in collaboration with the Regional Office (Kanwil) of the West Java Province Ministry of Religion carried out mass vaccinations targeting educational and religious institutions, one of which was Islamic boarding schools (ponpes).
West Java Police Chief, Inspector General. Pol. Ahmad Dofiri, admitted that he had prepared millions of vaccines for students, religious leaders and Islamic organizations in West Java.
We are working with the West Java Regional Office of Religion to prepare three million vaccines for students at Islamic boarding schools, Islamic organisations such as NU, Muhammadiyah, Persis and others, explained the West Java Regional Police Chief after attending a mass vaccination at the Babakan Ciwaringin Islamic Boarding School complex, Cirebon Regency, West Java, Tuesday. The two-star general said mass vaccinations in collaboration with the West Java Regional Office of Religion were carried out at 104 points. The West Java Regional Police Chief assessed that religious institutions and leaders have the authority to play a vital role in the success of vaccination to achieve herd immunity or group immunity.

Why target pesantren? Because they have an important role, such as schools and others, they must participate in vaccination. Islamic boarding schools have a socialization role to invite people to take vaccines. When pesantren want (vaccination), residents also flock to participate in vaccines, explained the West Java Regional Police Chief.
The two-star general said the mass vaccination at the Babakan Ciwaringin Islamic Boarding School complex in Cirebon targeted 3,000 students. The West Java Regional Police Chief appreciated the enthusiasm of the students and boarding school caregivers to participate in the vaccination.
Meanwhile, Zamzami Amin as the caretaker of the Babakan Ciwaringin Cirebon Islamic Boarding School admitted that he was grateful to be able to get the trust to hold a mass vaccination.
