Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Pekanbaru. The Riau Regional Police launched the Save Riau Joint Application (BSR), which functioned to facilitate officers in the field in handling people who were confirmed to be Covid-19. This technology-based application has also been implemented in all areas in Riau through the existing Polres.

Thanks to its sophistication, effectiveness and efficiency, the BSR application has become the latest breakthrough initiated by the Riau Regional Police. This is also intended to anticipate the surge in the transmission of the third wave of Corona that we are wary of in the months ahead. Currently, there are around 1,800 people from the Police, the National Armed Forces and health workers in Riau who are the tracer in the BSR application.

Riau Province itself is considered capable of suppressing the number of Covid-19 transmissions when the second wave hit some time ago. Even now, the number of Corona sufferers continues to decline in Riau. Therefore, it is hoped that the latest BSR application will suppress the pandemic during the third wave.

Riau Regional Police Chief, Pol. When Inspector-General Agung Setya Imam Effendi launched the Save Riau Joint Application (BSR) in Meranti Islands Regency on Wednesday (6/10/2021), the positivity in early August was the positive rate in Riau reached 31 percent. However, thanks to the speed of handling and prevention, this figure has dropped dramatically to 1.4 percent.

"The decline in the positivity rate, which today is 1.4 percent, is one of the contributions from the BSR application. It can be seen that the initial handling was still deficient, meaning that the number of confirmed people who were verified was increasing day by day. This means that more and more of them are handled from the application," he explained.

From the beginning of August 2021, the positivity in Riau is 31 percent, and today, it is only 1.4 percent. Nevertheless, nevertheless, this is very good, explained the Riau Regional Police Chief, accompanied by the Meranti Islands Regent Muhammad Adil and the Police Chief, Pol. Grand Commissioner Andi Yul at the BSR application launch location, at the Regent's office.

The BSR application aims to ensure that people in Riau who are confirmed to have Covid-19 can be handled optimally, from data validation, verification, drug administration, evacuation to hospitals and centralized isolation places. Everything is handled optimally and in detail so that Covid-19 does not spread widely, especially in family clusters that are in close contact.

"This is also one way to make it easier for all of us to carry out our duties, prevent the transmission of Covid-19 to our brothers and sisters. Warning of the third wave of the spread of Covid-19, which we hope can be prevented in Riau, in addition to the acceleration of the vaccine that continues to run. With the BSR application, tracing officers can more easily verify, making it more valid," explained the Riau Regional Police Chief.

The two-star general emphasized that the application is a manifestation of hard work and evidence that the state is here for the community to prevent and handle Covid-19. Inspector-General Agung wants the death rate in Riau due to exposure to Corona to be suppressed and the public to get optimal health services through the launched BSR application.

The working system of the BSR Application is integrated information, by processing data from the centre, for people whom Covid has confirmed. The data is also followed up by officers (Tracers) in their respective regions, with the aim of validation. The Tracer officer then reports back using the BSR application in detail regarding the actions that have been taken. Through this report, follow-up actions can be taken so that the handling of confirmed persons can be optimal.

Besides being assisted by the BSR application, the acceleration of vaccination by the Riau Regional Police is also an equally important factor in suppressing and preventing the rapid spread of Corona in Riau. Even in the Meranti Islands Regency, vaccination for the community has reached more than 30 percent.
