Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Regional Police, Pol. Grand Commissioner Hadi Wahyudi said the case began when a man with the initials ES brought together IM with the victim with the initials SB in a cafe to take care of his son so he could enter the Police Academy (Akpol). "During the meeting, IW agreed and asked SB for Rp 600 million so that his son could enter the Police Academy," he explained, Sunday (12/19/21).
Pol. Grand Commissioner Hadi Wahyudi revealed that SB's victim also sent IDR 600 million to IW by means of IDR 400 million to his Mandiri Bank account and IDR 200 million to SU's BRI Bank account. "After the IDR 600 million was given, it turned out that AM, SB's son could not enter the Police Academy, while IW had fled," explained Head of PR.
After that, SB also reported the case of fraud and embezzlement to the North Sumatra Regional Police's Directorate of Criminal Investigation Unit. Then, the North Sumatra Regional Police Sub-Directorate 5 Renakta of Criminal Investioggation Division personnel who received the victim's report conducted an investigation by examining a number of witnesses. Officers also arrested a perpetrator with the initials IW.
"What we have determined is 1 suspect. The suspect IW was detained and threatened with a sentence of up to five years in prison, but investigators are still continuing to investigate several people regarding their respective roles," explained Head of PR.

Grand Commissioner Hadi Wahyudi also said that during interrogation, the IW perpetrator admitted that the IDR 600 million given by the victim had been distributed, with details of the perpetrator getting a share of IDR 400 million, ES of IDR 139 million, NA of Rp. 40 million, DR of IDR 20 million and SU of IDR 1 million. "We are still pursuing those who receive the money from their crimes," explainedHead of PR.
