Head of Public Relations North Sumatra Regional Police, Pol. Grand Commissioner Hadi Wahyudi, explained that the establishment of a tough village that functions to eradicate drug trafficking will also be used as a location to suppress the spread of Covid-19. Where the community will be involved in efforts to overcome drug problems and the Covid-19 pandemic.
"Of course the formation of this tough village will coordinate with the local government and community leaders," explained the Head of Public Relations of North Sumatra Regional Police.
Previously, it was known that the National Police Chief asked his staff to increase the role of the 'Resilient Village' not only to prevent the spread of Covid-19. The National Police Chief also requested that the 'Tough Village' also be activated to prevent drug trafficking.
“In the past, we have created a 'Resilient Village' in the context of eradicating or preventing the spread of Covid-19, then this time I ask for a drug 'Resilient Village' to be created in collaboration with the police, stakeholders in the tough village, local government, religious leaders, religious leaders community, so that every strong village has the power to prevent, deter and dare to take drugs. Then the existing circulation will be immediately informed and then we can arrest it, " explained the former Police Criminal Investigation Officer.
The National Police Chief also added that with that hope, we have the power of deterrence, the power of deterrence against the threat of drugs. On the one hand, the Police could really work optimally by involving all existing stakeholders, which of course must involve the participation of the community.
