The National Police's Anti-terror Detachment 88 Succeeds in Securing 41 Suspected Terrorists in Several Indonesian Territories

Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Special Detachment (Densus) 88 Anti-terror Police managed to arrest 41 suspected terrorists in several areas in Indonesia over the past few days.

Head of the Public Information Section (Kabag Penum) of the National Police Public Relations Division, Pol. Grand Commissioner Ahmad Ramadhan, explained that a total of 41 terrorist suspects have been arrested by the National Police Anti-terror Detachment 88, Monday (08/16/2021).

The Head of the General Information and PR of National Police explained that of this number, the most were secured in Central Java. A total of 10 peoples were arrested in several areas in Central Java.

Then six people were arrested in North Sumatra, three in Jambi, seven in Lampung, five in Banten, and five in West Java. Subsequently, two were arrested in East Kalimantan, and one suspected terrorist each was arrested in South Sulawesi, Maluku and West Kalimantan.

The Head of the General Informationa and PR of National Police explained that the majority of the suspected terrorists were members of the Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) network.

"The target group for the JI group is 6 people in North Sumatra, 3 peoples in Jambi, 7 peoples in Lampung, 4 peoples in Banten, 2 peoples in West Java, 10 peoples in Central Java, 1 person in South Sulawesi, 1 person in Maluku, and 2 peoples in West Kalimantan," explained the Head of the Public Relations Division of National Police.

As for the suspected terrorist who came from East Kalimantan, it was suspected that he was not from JI, but from a social media group.
