Polri, as an institution responsible for ensuring security and safety, has become one of the spearheads in the vaccination program. In doing so, they also gained support from many elements, including religious or prominent figures.
The participation of religious figures hopefully would bring an impact to the people and encourage them to get their vaccines.
For that reason, The Head of Polri (Kapolri) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, was giving his best appreciation to the religious figures who participated in the national vaccine program when he came directly to inspect a vaccination program in Banten.
The participation of religious figures in Banten has contributed to encouraging the other participants. This was seen as a huge boost as some of the general public still has doubts about the Covid-19 vaccine.
Currently, the government is vigorously carrying out vaccination programs to prevent the outbreak of Covid-19. It is expected that the second and the third dose could enhance the immunity of the community.
These efforts at least paid off amid the new wave of Omicron. The new variant proved less severe than the previous variants. Those who are already vaccinated will have less to worry about.
However, General Sigit emphasized that this wave still has a potential threat that should be on the lookout, especially when it inflicts the elderly. Thus, the elderly are expected to get their boosters to protect themselves.
The Ministry of Health has already reduced the time between the second inoculation and the booster so the general public could get their dose sooner.
General Sigit asked the community to stay vigilant in facing Covid-19. Currently, Indonesia is 4th in the vaccination program. With solid coordination from every party, hopefully, Indonesia will reach its vaccination goals.
A huge effort in suppressing Covid-19 was done so that the economy of Indonesia would recover. Economic growth has a strong correlation with Covid-19 handling. The community will return to their daily activities when they are finally freed from Covid-19.
This is why Polri is directly involved in suppressing Covid-19 because the success in handling Covid-19 is for the good of us all.
