Tribratanews.polri.go.id. - Jakarta. The National Police finally issued a crowd permit for the holding of League 1 and League 2, football matches that have been postponed for a long time due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Assistant confirmed this for Operations (Assistant) for the Chief of Police, Police Inspector General Imam Sugianto.

"Yes," Police Chief Assistant replied, Monday (31/5).

Previously, the Assistant Chief of Police stated that the Indonesian National Police would issue crowd permits for League 1 and League 2 on May 27, 2021, after attending a meeting with the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Zainudin Amali, Indonesian Football Association (PSSI), and PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB).

In the coordination meeting, PSSI and PT LIB explained all plans and schemes for the rolling out of Liga 1 and Liga 2, from implementation to security.

The National Police issued a permit after the successful implementation of the 2021 Menpora Cup, which was used as a reference. PT LIB itself has submitted a proposal since last April.

"I conveyed two things related to the National Police, namely licensing and security. LIB and incoming letters before fasting have processed licensing, "said Assistant Chief of Police.

"At the latest May 27, 2021, we can issue a permit for organising a crowd. It will still be completed, the areas for managing the League 1 and 2, "he continued.

Even so, the police asked for an increase in quality compared to the 2021 Menpora Cup. One of them is related to increased security.

The National Police hopes that PSSI and PTI LIB will be extra vigilant following the incident involving the supporters of the two finalists. Persija Jakarta supporters staged a victory parade after the favourite team won. Meanwhile, Bobotoh Persib stormed the club headquarters and carried out several damages.

"Hopefully, it can be managed well (League 1 and League 2) so that the health protocol during this pandemic can really be implemented. So, the implementation of League 1, 2, and PON Papua is safe, "concluded the Assistant Chief of Police.

"The incident is a lesson so that Leagues 1 and 2 are not peppered with counterproductive things," he said.
