Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The House of People's Representatives suggested that the vaccination program be transferred to the responsibility of the National Police. It is known that so far the coordination is under the provincial and local governments.
“To encourage the acceleration of equitable vaccination, the Government should re-evaluate our vaccination program which has been going on for almost seven months. My suggestion is that the responsibility for this vaccination program should be given to the National Police as the executor or executor. Not to mention the provincial government," said Deputy Chairman of Commission II of House of Representative, Junimart Girsang, Friday (08/06/2021).
According to him, currently a number of local governments are complaining about various obstacles faced in accelerating vaccination in their respective regions. Such as concerns about the use of the budget, including role refocusing. As well as constraints on the availability of vaccine stocks from the central government due to an invalid vaccine stock data system and the reluctance of citizens to be vaccinated, as well as other non-technical obstacles.
"This means that the central government must immediately conduct a re-evaluation starting from the procurement, distribution and implementation of vaccines who are responsible for the field," explained the deputy chairman of the House of People Representative II.
He also believes that with a change in strategy, through the transfer of vaccination administration to the Police, the distribution of vaccines in the regions will definitely be much more orderly, and on target, compared to what has happened so far. And safer from the possibility of misuse of the vaccine.
“By making the Indonesian National Police at the forefront as actors, implementing vaccines that can coordinate, build communication from the provincial level to even rural areas. Of course, crowds for vaccines will not occur, if it is done by picking up the ball for vaccines to the village, " he said.
He hopes that through the transfer discourse, the central government, through the Coordinator of Community Activity Restrictions, Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, will make a change in strategy as soon as possible. By appointing the National Police as the executor and organizer of the vaccination program down to the village level.
“In my opinion, this is a well-organized and well-targeted vaccination acceleration strategy. The Central Government, in this case the Community Activity Restrictions Coordinator, with the permission of the President, made an MoU with the National Police Chief regarding the target period for the completion of a comprehensive vaccination. And of course the National Police must make an official report regarding the accountability for the results of this special work,” said Junimart.
He continued, with the transfer of vaccination administration from the regional government to the National Police, of course, it must be followed by a transfer of the budget, including refocusing, which received approval from the central government to the National Police.
Meanwhile, regarding the current achievement of vaccinations for the Indonesian population, Junimart sees it as the result of a program that is lacking a lotl. This is evident from the report from the Ministry of Health which stated that until Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at 12.00 PM, the number of Indonesians who had been vaccinated against the second dose of Covid-19 had only reached 21,436,908 peoples or 10.29 percent. And for the number of people who have been injected with the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, 48,106,208 peoples or 23.10 percent.
