Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Semarang. The Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Central Java Regional Police arrested two perpetrators of theft of motorized vehicles across the province who acted in the Pati and Rembang districts.
The two perpetrators with the initials AR and M are residents of Probolinggo, East Java.
The actions of the two perpetrators went viral because they were caught on a CCTV camera at a minimarket in the Juwana area, Pati.
Through CCTV footage and the results of an in-depth investigation, the two suspects were arrested in Jaken District, Pati Regency. From the hands of the perpetrators, the police found an airsoft gun.
Criminal Investigation Directorate of Central Java Regional Police, Pol. Grand Commissioner Djuhandhani Rahardjo Puro, S.H., explained that the disclosure of the theft case was based on Police Report Number LP/B/231/VIII/2021/SPKT/Juwana Police/Pati Police/Central Java Police, dated August 23, 2021.
The theft occurred on Sunday (1/8/21) at around 21.00. The perpetrators rode around in circles looking for targets in the mini market. The action was carried out by destroying the vehicle's key house using a T key, said Director during a press conference at the Central Java Police Headquarter, Monday (08/30/21).
According to the Criminal Investigation Directorate of Greater Jakarta Metro. Regional Police, after going through an investigation, the two perpetrators were arrested at their hiding place, Jaken Pati District on Tuesday (08/24/21). Meanwhile, evidence for the crime was found in the Probolinggo Regency, East Java, as many as 6 units of motorized vehicles resulting from the crime were confiscated from the suspect AR.
"Furthermore, when arresting the suspect, an airsoft gun was also found along with 6 cartridges. We also confiscated a T key and 4 keys, a helmet, and a jacket," he said.
Police Grand Commissioner. Djuhandhani Rahardjo Puro, said that during the examination the suspect admitted to having committed his actions at 7 crime scenes (TKP) in Pati, and 4 crime scenes in Rembang.
As a result of his actions, the two perpetrators of theft were subject to Article 364 of the Criminal Code paragraphs 1 to 4 e with a penalty of 9 years
"The suspects will be subject to Article 364 of the Criminal Code paragraphs 1 to 4 e with a threat of 9 years in prison," explained Pol. Grand Commissioner Djuhandhani Rahardjo Puro.
