The Directorate of Drug Crime Indonesian National Police Criminal Investigation Agency has succeeded in dismantling the distribution of marijuana in the Aceh-Medan-Jakarta network with 224.4 kg of evidence and arrested four suspects, namely the initials SP (24), RN (21) and IH (21) as a courier who was arrested in Palembang, South Sumatra. In addition, another suspect, SD (41) as the controller, was detained in Medan, North Sumatra.
"Illicit trafficking of marijuana types involving the Aceh, Medan, and Jakarta networks. Investigators obtained evidence of 224 kilograms of marijuana," explained Deputy Director of Drug Crime Indonesian National Police-Criminal Investigation Agency, Police Grand Commissioner Jayadi at the Indonesian National Police Headquarters, South Jakarta, Friday (11/26/21).
The disclosure of this case began when investigators received a report of drug trafficking on September 9, 2021. Based on the information, the drugs will be distributed from Aceh to Jakarta. "Starting from the information obtained by the investigators in the field, then from the information obtained information. There is a plan for narcotics transactions of marijuana types from Aceh to Jakarta," explained Deputy Director of Drug Crime Indonesian National Police-Criminal Investigation Agency.
Police Grand Commissioner Jayadi said investigators were investigating the information. Based on this, information was obtained that marijuana-type narcotics had moved from Aceh to Jakarta.
After receiving information, the team moved to the field and discovered that the marijuana was already in the South Sumatra area. Furthermore, on November 11, 2021, the team arrested the suspect, who was in the South Sumatra area.
"From the results of the arrests in the South Sumatra area, investigators obtained evidence of 224.4 kg of marijuana which was taken using a Kijang Inova vehicle, and the suspects we managed to secure at the crime scene in the Palembang area were three suspects," explained the Deputy Director of Drug Crime Indonesian National Police-Criminal Investigation Agency.
Police Grand Commissioner Jayadi also explained, based on the results of the examination of the three suspects, it showed that the marijuana evidence was obtained from Aceh. Not only that, but investigators also arrested a suspect from Medan who is suspected of being the controller.
"Then in Medan, we managed to arrest one suspect so that the total suspects we detained were four people, and three people at the South Sumatra crime scene, then one person at the Medan crime scene," he explained.
