Jakarta - The Chief of Indonesian National Police, Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, attended the handover of college education assistance for the Indonesian National Police Children's from the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises. The minister of State-Owned Enterprises participated in the handover of aid, Erick Thohir, at the Indonesian National Police Headquarters, South Jakarta, Tuesday (14/12/2021).
In his remarks, the Chief of the Indonesian National Police expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the education program carried out by State-Owned Enterprises for the Children's of the Indonesian National Police.
"This is assistance and participation from the many aids that State-Owned Enterprises has provided to the Indonesian National Police. So on this occasion, we are grateful," said Sigit.
Sigit said the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises supports education programs in realizing superior human resources (HR). Following President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), the former Head of the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Indonesian National Police said that preparing superior human resources will lead Indonesia to become a more developed country.
"Inevitably related to strategic developments according to the direction of the President, this is done by preparing superior human resources and how to open up the investment climate by making laws that simplify the bureaucracy so that they become part of accelerating and attracting investment both from outside and within the country," said Sigit.
With this educational program, said Sigit, it is part of the struggle to realize superior human resources as the ideals of President Jokowi in utilizing the demographic bonus that will exist in the future. So that Indonesia can prepare itself to become a more developed country.
"Based on the survey, it was stated that Indonesia can manage the existing demographic bonus, manage existing human resources, utilize existing natural resources and how we can increase human resources, so Indonesia hopes to become the number 4 country in the world," said Sigit.
Based on projected data from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), it is ranked fourth out of 10 countries with a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of US$ 10.52 trillion in 2050. That number is behind China, India and America.
Sigit said that the education program provided by the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises always increases every year from the reports received. For example, in 2020, as many as 597 Indonesian National Police followed suit. This year it has risen to 876. He also hopes that by 2022, this educational program can reach one thousand.
On this occasion, the former Chief of Banten Regional Police also explained that the Indonesian National Police were doing the same thing by screening the nation's children who had achievements to become members of the Indonesian National Police. He also hopes that the recipients of the education program from the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises can become part of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises in the future.
"We hope that our younger siblings who are given this educational assistance will also become talents in the future, maybe there are those who have extraordinary achievements and have the capabilities needed by State-Owned Enterprises, so these younger siblings are candidates for large families and contribute to State-Owned Enterprises," said Sigit.
Furthermore, Sigit hopes that the synergy between the Indonesian National Police and the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises and other Ministries will remain closely intertwined. For example, he said how the synergy between the Indonesian National Police and the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises dealt with the Covid-19 pandemic.
With the synergy between ministries/agencies and the community, he also said that Indonesia is currently in a better condition in controlling the rate of Covid-19.
"Indonesia is currently in good condition, and this is our opportunity to get up immediately and then synergize to create economic growth, which we have recently experienced a contraction in," said Sigit.
Sigit also said that the Indonesian National Police was ready to oversee the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises programs realize Indonesia's better economic growth.
"We are always ready to oversee and synergize with future programs to realize Indonesia's economic growth to realize an advanced Indonesia, growing Indonesia," said Sigit.
Meanwhile, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir explained, the Indonesian National Police is a state institution that continues to support and oversee all policies in various sectors.
"Indeed, why is one of them, since two years ago we thought about supporting the Indonesian National Police. Because we have a lot of cooperation with the Indonesian National Police on all fronts, it has been proven to this day how the Indonesian National Police has become a good partner for us," said Erick.
One of the concrete pieces of evidence, said Erick, is that the Indonesian National Police are always at the forefront of handling and controlling Covid-19. Among them is handling the distribution of Covid-19 vaccinations.
"And we also proved that during Covid-19, distribution and even vaccination were at the forefront of the Indonesian National Police and the Indonesian National Armed Forces. Therefore, two years ago, a program was launched to help the daughters of the police, whose rank was the only first officer, for us to help with their education," concluded Erick.
