Telkom Strengthens Indonesian National Police Information Technology Human Resources Capacity Through Certified Training

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) held a Certified Internetworking Training within the Indonesian National Police to increase the capacity of Human Resources (HR) in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

This series started on Wednesday (13/10) and was opened directly by the Head of Information and Communication Technology Division of the Indonesian National Police, Police Inspector General Slamet Uliandi, Director of Enterprise & Business Service Telkom Edi Witjara, and the ranks.

In addition to inaugurating the training, the Indonesian National Police also gave awards to Telkom for the company's contribution in supporting vaccination activities and various police activities.

In his remarks, Police Inspector General Slamet Uliandi said that his party was currently intensifying the development of HR capacity in the Information Technology (IT) sector according to the Chief of Indonesian National Police mandate. He hopes that HR training in the IT field can improve the quality of Indonesian National Police services and foster public trust in police institutions.

Responding to this statement, Edi expressed his gratitude for the trust of the Indonesian National Police in Telkom so far. Edi said that the Indonesian National Police's IT HR capacity improvisation program aligns with Telkom's vision and mission, which is currently transforming into a digital telecommunication company.

"We are grateful for all the trust and appreciation were given by the Indonesian National Police to Telkom because of the company's active involvement in supporting government programs, especially related to the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. Telkom ensures readiness to continue to support various Indonesian National Police programs, especially those related to efforts to improve the quality of human resources in the IT sector. This program is in line with Telkom's efforts to transform towards the leading digital telco in Indonesia and even the world," said Edi, Saturday (16/10/2021).

To become a leading digital telco company, Telkom is now also focusing on developing its business in three main business domains, namely Digital Connectivity, Digital Platform, and Digital Services. In the Digital Connectivity domain, Telkom provides infrastructure such as fiber optic cable network of more than 169 thousand km, operational of more than 220 thousand Base Transceiver Station (BTS) towers, cellular internet services reaching 99 per cent of the population, and 2 national satellites reaching Southeast Asia and South Asia.

So far, Telkom and the Indonesian National Police have also often worked together to strengthen the capacity of human resources and services in each institution by relying on these various products/services. Therefore, this IT HR training is also carried out as an effort by Telkom and the Indonesian National Police to optimize the benefits of this collaboration.

"The existence of various sophisticated infrastructures will not have a positive impact if they are not operated and managed by reliable and skilled human resources. Therefore, human resource capacity building must be carried out so that digitalization produces optimal results. Improving the competency standards of IT HR in Indonesia so that it is on an international scale can be done by utilizing training from Telkom.
