Targeting 40 Schools, Directorate of Traffic of the Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Police would Provide Traffic Curriculum From an Early Age

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Directorate of Traffic of the Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Police and Traffic Unit of Departmental Police under the Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Police will target 40 elementary to senior high schools to address traffic education curriculum from the early ages.

"We have to understand that the early-age education would shape people's characters", Director of Traffic of the Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Police Grand Commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yugo, said.

Director of Traffic of the Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Police said that the "Road to School" education activities were halted due Covid-19 pandemic, despite the Directorate of Traffic of the Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Police have formulated the curriculum module since last year. Director of Traffic of the Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Police mentioned that early-age traffic education could form a character, just like those applied in advanced countries to elementary school students.

"We are ready for the module with all of its details such as how to cross the road properly", the Director of Traffic of the Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Police said.

According to the Director of Traffic, Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Police and the personnel addressed the early-age traffic education online for 30 minutes during the Pancasila and Citizenship Education subject.

The Director of Traffic of the Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Police mentioned that the school and parent's role could assist the children so they could understand the importance of traffic education insight from an early age. Just like parents who should ban or not facilitate their underage children to drive vehicles to avoid fatal accidents.
