independent vaccination with the theme 'Survival Vaccination of Islamic Boarding Schools and Houses of Worship Synergy of the Police and Special Staff of the President of the Republic of Indonesia' was held at the Syaichona Cholil Islamic boarding school, Sepinggan, South Balikpapan, Tuesday (09/07/21).
The activity targets 1000 people to be vaccinated with the help of 45 vaccinators consisting of the Joint National Police, National Armed Forces, and Health Service.
Also attending the event were East Kalimantan Governor Isran Noor, East Kalimantan Regional Police Chief, Pol. Inspector General Herry Rudolf Nahak, Islamic Boarding School Leader Muhammad Ali Cholil, Commander of Military Regional Mulawarman Brigadier General Ibnu Bintang Setiawan, Balikpapan City Government Assistant 1, Balikpapan Police Chief, Chief of Justice, Religious Court, Deputy Chairperson of the Balikpapan House of Representative, Commander of Air and Navy at Dhomber, Balikpapan.
In the implementation of the Merdeka vaccination, virtual national communication was also carried out with President Jokowi and the National Covid Task Force along with the leaders of Islamic boarding schools and houses of worship.
This Merdeka vaccination activity was also held simultaneously in Indonesia with well-known Islamic Boarding Schools such as Tebu Ireng, Gontor, and other houses of worship such as churches, temples, and monasteries.

Grand Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo,explained, in the East Kalimantan region today the Merdeka Vaccination was simultaneously held at the Saint Luke Church Samarinda with a total of 2500 doses and the Trubus Iman Islamic Boarding School Paser with a total of 1000 doses, as well as Islamic Boarding School Al-Ikhsan Senaken Paser Regency with the amount of 1000 Dosages.
