Surabaya Large City Departmental Police exterminates 39 kgs of amphetamine, the result of the cases discoveries during the 2021 Semeru Drugs Eradication Operation, held in the courtyard of Surabaya Large City Departmental Police Headquarter on Friday (24/09/2021).
From the 2021 Semeru Drugs Eradication Operation, held for only 12 days from September 1 to 12, 2021, Surabaya Large City Departmental Police personnel successfully arrested 120 suspects from drug users, couriers, and dealers.
In a statement, Chief of Surabaya Large City Departmental Police, Police Grand Commissioner Akhmad Yusep Gunawan, stated that 120 people had been arrested from the operation. There are 90 cases in total, 30 of them are the operation's target, and the rest are non-targeted operations. Out of 120 suspects, 117 are males, and 3 are females.
"We also seized the evidence of 652.94 grams of amphetamine, 45.9 grams of marijuana, 10.5 ecstasy pills, and 50.438 LL pills. Besides showing the seized evidence of the 2021 Semeru Drugs Eradication Operation, Surabaya Large City Departmental Police are also exterminating drugs evidence from November 2020 to August 2021. The total of the exterminated evidence is 39,374 kgs of amphetamine, 2.48 kgs of marijuana, 400 happy five pills, and 39,000 LL pills", Chief of Surabaya Large City Departmental Police said.
"We encourage everyone to handle the drug abuse together by involving all stakeholders. Also, Mr Chief of (East Java) Regional Police would activate its Drugs Directorate soon to maximise zero drugs programme in every region. Moreover, Surabaya Large City Departmental Police would also determine zero drugs location in a subdistrict of Citizen Association soon. Therefore, I asked for all stakeholder's support so that the programme could run well and could save children from the drugs abuse threat", Chief of Surabaya Large City Departmental Police affirmed.
