Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Palembang. South Sumatra Regional Police have begun to implement curfew in Palembang City to reduce Covid-19 cases.
Chief of South Sumatra Regional Police Inspector General Eko Indra Heri said during the curfew, police installed insulation to limit the mobility of vehicles on number of roads.
"The insulation starts at 21.00 to 24.00 Indonesia Eastern Time, this is proof of our seriousness in suppressing the spread of Covid-19," he said, Wednesday (04/23/2021) night.
One of the blocked roads is Simpang 5 area of South Sumatra DPRD (Regional People's Representative Assembly). According to Chief of South Sumatera Regional Police, the traffic flow in the area is quite busy so it needs to be limited.
In addition, for Palembang, it is said that roads in Palembang are 100 percent closed under the jurisdiction of Palembang Ilir Barat I Resort Police.
Chief of South Sumatra Regional Police explained the road in Ilir Barat I Region was indeed the highest red zone in Palembang.
"So we focus there first. However, there are still exceptions for those who are sick or who are truly in emergency," he said.
