Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Medan. In providing space to the public in expressing their works, Indonesian National Police Headquarter, with some artists, held the 2021 Bhayangkara Mural Festival simultaneously across Indonesia.

"Even though our theme is Covid-19, our artists are allowed to create negative criticism as well to show that Police is not anti-critic. Not a problem. Even the Chief of National Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, planned to make friends with the artists", Chief of North Sumatera Regional Police, Police Inspector General RZ Panca Putra Simanjuntak, said through his Chief of PR Agency, Police Grand Commissioner Hadi Wahyudi, on Saturday (30/10/21).

Chief of PR Agency said that Police would also permit the artists to deliver their critics through the murals they made. "This is a form of hope from the National Police in providing space to the public or the artists to deliver their critics beside the grand theme of Covid-19 handling", he said.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of North Sumatra Art Council, Baharuddin, accompanied by the jury panel of Mangatas Pasaribu, Fitri Evita, and Raden Sitepu, stated that this event is a surprise for North Sumatra, considering then National Police has been related to law and order, but now they are with the artists that primarily millennials.

"This event would make the artists the extended hand of the Police in delivering critics to the public in facing Covid-19 pandemic situation. Because, all this time, the public received advice through social media, and now, the people receive it through murals. I hope that people could understand and anticipate the Covid-19 third wave in Indonesia", he explained.

Chief of PR Agency continued that the event was attended by the top 54 teams and selected into 18 teams. There was further selection, and five teams were sent to National Police Headquarter, Jakarta, for further selection.

"Each province send five teams, each consisting of two people. From North Sumatra, one team is selected for further selection round in Jakarta", he explained.

In a different place, people who saw the competition appreciated North Sumatra Regional Police. By this competition, the artists could give their best works in a good place and support the government's programme to defy hoaxes and obey the Health Protocols.
