Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Traffic Corps of the National Police supports the implementation of the XX Papua National Sports Week (PON) 2021 by providing 51 units of cars and motorcycles. The two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles are expected to be useful to support the implementation of the event.
The head of Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) From National Police, Pol. Inspector General. Istiono, said that the 51 vehicles would be sent today to Papua. With details, eight units of Yamaha MT 25 250cc and 30 units of Yamaha Nmax 155cc, as well as 13 units of four-wheeled double cabin vehicles. Previously, Traffic Corps had sent 30 units of two-wheeled vehicles in the form of an 850cc Yamaha MT motorcycle to the Papua Regional Police in 2020.
"Previously in 2020 we had dispatched 30 units of two-wheeled vehicles. So that we have sent a total of 81 vehicles," said the National Police Chief of Traffic Corps at the National Police's NTMC field, Jakarta, Tuesday (08/24/2021).
Furthermore, Head of Traffic Corps hopes that the vehicle units sent to Papua can be operationalized soon. Then, it can be immediately distributed to several predetermined areas.
Hopefully this delivery, which takes eight days to get to Papua, can be operationalized soon and hopefully the event there will run safely and smoothly, said Kakorlantas.
Head of Traffic Corps added that various threats that were predicted to be in the form of disturbances to Kamtibmas and Kamseltibcarlantas, including traffic jams, violations, and traffic accidents, could be anticipated.
Head of Traffic Corps also advised the personnel on duty at the event to carry out maximum security. Therefore, supporting this vehicle is important to maximize security at events that were delayed a year ago.
"Obviously, at this moment of National Sports Week XX, it's very busy. And this vehicle will be used optimally. Therefore, all of these vehicles are all new. Hopefully there will be no trouble later," he explained.
Finally, Head of Traffic Corps revealed, all those involved in organizing National Sports Week XX and National Paralympic Week XVI 2021 to synergize, including with Ministries and Institutions.
"And for the committee, let's show that we are ready to secure and succeed the entire series of National Sports Week XX and National Paralympic Week XVI 2021 activities," he concluded.
It is known that the XX National Sports Week of Papua will be held from 20 September to 16 October 2021 in four cities in Papua. After the National Sports Week is held, the National Paralympic Week event will be held one month later, from 2 to 15 November 2021 in two Papuan cities.
