Sumut Tightens Covid-19 Policies as Covid-19 Mounts

inp.polri.go.id – Medan.The number of Covid-19 cases in North Sumatra shows a significant increase in February 2022.


North Sumatra Police Chief (Kapolda Sumut) Inspector General (Irjen) Drs. R.Z. Panca Putra Simanjuntak, M.Sc. continues to urge the public to adhere to the implementation of health protocols.


Daily cases on February 6, 2022, reached 245 cases, where weekly data from February 1 to 6, 2022 shows that 1,119 are infected with Covid-19, according to the Head of North Sumatra Police Public Relations (Kabid Humas) Commissioner Hadi Wahyudi S.I.K., S.H., (8/2/22).


In order to anticipate the third wave of Covid-19, Commissioner Hadi Wahyudi S.I.K., S.H., Polda Sumut along with the local government will intensify joint operations both at night and during the day.


"We will carry out socialization, both through printed or social media, to remind the public to adhere to the health protocols considering the Omicron variant spreads very quickly," he explained.


The public is urged to implement the restrictions for the sake of public health and safety.


"Don't ignore health protocols during the Covid-19 pandemic. Obeying the restrictions and you’re your vaccines is one way to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Take care of ourselves and our families." he added.
