The North Sumatra Police (Polda Sumut) managed to arrest 959 suspects from 835 cases related to drug abuse in North Sumatra, Tuesday (01/03/2022).
The arrest was part of the Toba Antique Operation which was held for 21 days, from February 2 to 22, by the North Sumatra Police Narcotics Directorate (Ditresnarkoba Sumut).
"We can say that in total, we managed to uncover 835 cases with a total of 959 suspects," said Commissioner. C. Wisnu Adji P., S.I.K., M.H.,
Diresnarkoba Polda Sumut stated many of the evidence was also secured. Among them, 10,028 marijuana stalks from the disclosure of the case of a 2-hectare land in Mandailing Natal Regency some time ago.
"Then there is also marijuana seeds weighing 0.94 grams, methamphetamine weighing 5,102 grams, and 13,574 ecstasy pills," said Commissioner C. Wisnu Adji P., S.I.K., M.H. He also adds that his party often conducts raids on drug villages or also knowns as GKN. There were 91 raids on drug villages recorded.
"We did 91 raids on GKN and with the results of the disclosure of 243 cases and securing 250 suspects," added the Director of Ditresnarkoba.
During the press conference, Polda Sumut stated that they destroyed 61,017.05 grams of crystal methamphetamine and 53,000 grams of marijuana, which is a drug confiscated from January 23 to February 22, 2022.
