Sub-Directorate I/indag Dit Reskrimsus of North Sumatra Regional Police (Polda Sumut), with the Food Task Force of North Sumatra (Satgas Pangan), found a large number of cooking oil storage warehouses in Deli Serdang Regency in their inspection of cooking oil commodities.
The Head of Public Relations (Kabid Humas) of Polda Sumut, Commissioner Hadi Wahyudi explained that the police were still investigating the findings of the alleged hoarding of cooking oil in one of the warehouses in Deliserdang Regency.
"We are still investigating whether it is hoarding or not," stated the Kabid Humas Polda Sumut, Sunday (20/02/22).
Police Commissioner Hadi Wahyudi said the investigation process was carried out at the North Sumatra Police Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) and was still gathering information and data.
Meanwhile, Deliserdang Police Chief, Commissioner Irsan Sinuhaji said that his party was still monitoring several locations around the region.
Satgas Pangan Sumut has found as much as 1.1 million kilograms of cooking oil in one of the warehouses in Tanjung Morawa District, Deliserdang Regency, allegedly intentionally stockpiled by the producer. From the initial information, the alleged hoarders wanted to profit as much as possible from the price set by the government of Rp. 14,000 per kilogram.
