Chairperson of Journalist Association(Pewarta) of Medan City Resort Police, Chairum Lubis, expressed his appreciation to police who have succeeded uncovering murder case of the Editor-in-Chief of online media lassernewstoday.com Marsal Harahap. He was killed to death by being shot not far from his house, approx. 300 meters, on Sunday, June 20, 2021 in the morning.
Police managed to arrest two perpetrators with the initials YD and AS. They were arrested on Tuesday, June 22, 2021. Chief of North Sumatera Regional Police, Police Inspector General R. Z. Panca Putra S., mentioned the shooting case at the Mobile Brigade Headquarters, Siantar on Wednesday (06/22); and Thursday (06/23), Chief of North Sumatera Regional Police will explain the shooting case at Adam Malik Hospital, Medan.
"On behalf of myself, Medan City Resort Police, reporter and online media pewarta.co, I would like to express my appreciation to the police, in this case the North Sumatra Regional Police, Simalungun Resort Police and Siantar Resort Police who have succeeded in uncovering the murder case of Marsal Harahap," Chairperson of Pewarta said.
Secretary of Indonesian Cyber Media Network (JMSI) of North Sumatra also asked the police to reveal motives and intellectual actors behind the assassination of Marsal Harahap.
"Police must reveal what the motive and who are the intellectual actors behind the murder of Marsal Harahap and drag all the perpetrators who participated in the murder of Mara Salem Harahap," he said.
The editor-in-chief of online media pewarta.co also asked the police to apply heavy and layered articles to the murderer of Marsal Harahap.
" In this case I also ask the police what are the plans and follow-up from the police for legal protection of press workers in conducting [our] duty to report," he concluded.
