Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Merauke. The National Police's Special Detachment 88 Anti-Terrorism Detachment Team has again secured 1 suspected terrorist in the Merauke area, Papua. The Head of Merauke Police, Police Grand Commissioner Attendant Untung Sangaji explained that until now, the Indonesian Police's Densus 88 Anti-terror has secured 11 people since the arrests on Friday, 28 May 2021.
The Merauke Police Chief explained that he could not explain in more detail regarding the arrests or the identities of the suspected terrorists who were arrested. The police are currently still working on development. It is feared that later this information could disrupt the investigation process in the field.
Previously, the Papua Police Chief, Police Inspector General. Mathius D. Fakhiri, stated that the suspected terrorists arrested were linked to the Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD).
The terrorist suspects are also suspected of having links to the suicide bombing case in Makassar, South Sulawesi, in early January.
"The ten terrorists have been secured since Friday (28/5) and scheduled for Wednesday (2/6) to be flown to Jayapura," explained the Papua Police Chief, Sunday (30/5/21).
