South Sumatra Regional Police Assist Flood Victims in Musi Rawas

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Palembang. The South Sumatra Regional Police and staff provided assistance to flood victims in Musi Rawas Regency.

Assistance in the form of basic necessities was handed over directly to the Head of South Sumatra Regional Police, Police Inspector General. Eko Indra Heri.


"Humanitarian assistance in the form of packages of basic necessities is a form of concern and easing the burden on the people affected by the disaster," explained the Head of PR of South Sumatra Regional Police, Pol. Grand Commissioner Supriadi, Saturday (05/29/2021).

The assistance was handed over by the Regional Police Chief to the victim's representative when conducting a survey of the flood location in Pasenan Terawas Village, Friday (05/28/2021).

The assistance distributed to the people of Pasenan Terawas Village was 100 packages of basic necessities.

On this occasion the South Sumatra Regional Police Chief gave enthusiasm and motivation or psychological strengthening to the people who were victims of the floods to make the disaster as learning, introspective and closer to Lord God of Almighty.

"The activity is a form of implementation o Chief of Indonesian National Police's priority program in the field of operational transformation in national economic recovery and as a form of concern for Indonesian National Police and the community," explained the Regional Police Chief.

Based on data from Musirawas National Police, five villages in the Selangit District and Stl Ulu Terawas District in Musi Rawas Regency were hit by a flood on Thursday (05/27/2021).

The flood affected more than 100 houses and a number of schools, health centers and mosques. The flood that inundated five villages in Musirawas was caused by heavy rain, causing the Lakit River to overflow.
