East Kalimantan Regional Police, again held an Merdeka vaccination campaign in East Kalimantan simultaneously by targeting Islamic boarding schools and places of worship on Tuesday (09/07). This independent vaccination activity was also carried out throughout Indonesia witnessed directly by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo through virtual.
In Balikpapan, the focus is on the Syaichona Cholil Islamic Boarding School, Sepinggan. This time the Polda Kaltim prepared 8,350 doses of vaccine which were divided into 5 Islamic boarding schools and 4 churches in East Kalimantan. The event was also attended by the Governor of East Kalimantan, Isran Noor.
"Today, vaccination was carried out nationally, including in East Kalimantan. This was carried out in 5 Islamic boarding schools and 4 churches with a target number of 8,350 vaccine injection recipients today. These are spread throughout East Kalimantan," explained the East Kalimantan Governor.
On that occasion, the Governor of East Kalimantan also said that the number of vaccines in East Kalimantan is currently quite a lot. Until today, the stock of vaccines available in East Kalimantan is 55 thousand. This amount includes the second dose and will continue to grow.
"Praise to the Lord, today the stock of vaccines in East Kalimantan is quite available so that the implementation can be continued. To this day, all of them come from the Health Service in all Districts of the City, including those in the National Armed Forces and National Police, approximately 55 thousand doses of vaccine and will come again. So as soon as possible the injection is carried out and we are sure that the second dose will also be confirmed," explained the East Kalimantan Governor.
The amount of the vaccine, called Isran, can only last about 5 days. However, his party continues to coordinate with the central government to increase the existing stock of vaccines.
"Anyway, if it's finished in half an hour, 55 thousand doses, we will add more. Is it about half an hour and 55 thousand? It's not finished. It lasts about 5 days, or a maximum of 10 days the injection can be finished," said the East Kalimantan Governor.
The Governor of East Kalimantan said that currently, the achievement of vaccination in East Kalimantan is still relatively low. For the first dose, it only reached 22.5 percent. Meanwhile, the second dose is only 15 percent.
"Our herd immunity is around 3 million of the 3.7 million population," explained the Governor of East Kalimantan.
