Papua – The community policing sector is often overlooked by the media. In Papua, the sector is the featured programme of the Noken Community Development Unit (Binmas Noken) in Papua. Besides pushing public development, it also enhances public knowledge and abilities around community security and order.

The economy, education, culture, religion, farming, and other sectors are the tools of Binmas Noken in collaborating with society. One of the programmes of Binmas Noken of Jayapura city is the SI IPAR (The Teaching Police) for schoolchildren in Papua. Getting used to meeting the personnel would make kids exposed to values of discipline, heroism, and nationalism through the introduction of Pancasila and national songs.

Binmas Noken of Jayapura city on Saturday, December 4, 2021, from 10.00 to 12.00, conducted SI IPAR activities with the early aged children of East Koya subdistrict, Muara Tami district, Jayapura city.

The personnel of Binmas Noken of Jayapura who attended the event is Police Sub-Inspector Second Class Nurdin Makuasang. The visit was conducted at the Kasih Sejahtera orphanage, East Koya subdistrict, Muara Tami district, Jayapura city.

The activity was started by the introduction and addressed the aims of Binmas Noken being present at the place. Then, Binmas Noken invited and taught elementary school kids at Kasih Sejahtera orphanage to always love Indonesia and know the ideology of Indonesia: Pancasila.

One of the methods is inviting kids to say the five principles of Pancasila and teaching them the meanings and symbols of those principles.

Not only that, but Police Sub-Inspector Second Class Nurdin also taught the counting and multiplying the numbers through the game of circle, in which the kids stood in a circle and holding hands then changed the position backwards.

The activity was conducted cheerfully full of kids laughing from the Kasih Sejahtera orphanage, in which 85% of the kids are from the Papuan mountains region and 21 are still at the elementary school, fostered by Rev Lince Lamba.

The activity was ended by snack and stationery distribution to the kids. The happiness from kids was evident during the photo session with the Binmas Noken personnel.

The good communication between Binmas Noken and the elementary school kids of Kasih Sejahtera orphanage, East Koya subdistrict, Muara Tami district, Jayapura city, made Rev Lince Lamba, the fosterer of the kids, thank the Binmas Noken personnel who came and filling their time on teaching the kids.
