Papua - Approaching the 76th Indonesian independence day, on Monday (16/8/2021), at 15.40 local time, Armed Forces personnel from Pinang Sirih Task Force managed to invade a headquarter of KKB (Armed Criminal Group) of Goliat Tabuni's network.
The occupation of the KKB headquarter was led by Infantry Major Sudarmin (Chief of Intelligence Section of Pinang Sirih Task Force Operation). Started with drone patrol in Welenggaru village, North Gome district, Puncak regency, three suspected KKB members were spotted and shot by the Cakra team. Afterwards, they were monitored by the drone fled to a traditional house.
Then Cakra team swiftly ambushed and shot one KKB member, but they all managed to run into the forest. When the headquarter was visited, personnel found one M16 type firearm.
At the moment, Pinang Sirih Task Forces still coordinates with the Armed Forces-Police security forces and prepare Reserve Team from Border Security Task Force of 715/MTL Mobil Yonif Raider, should they required some time in the future.
Chief of PR Task Force of Nemangkawi Operation, Police Grand Commissioner AM Kamal, said that Armed Forces-Police is now still investigating on groups who shot them. Patrol duty conducted by the task force aims to maintain public activities in the Gome district to be smooth and conducive. The commander units instruct their personnel to be more aware of their own posts to avoid another security disturbance in Ilaga Kompleks after the shootout at the Welenggary and Gugibur Kompleks villages of North Gome district, Puncak regency.
