Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Banjarmasin. The Directorate of Narcotics Investigation of South Kalimantan Regional Police has destroyed evidence of narcotics in the form of 667 grams of crystal methamphetamine and 607 pills of ecstasy resulting from the disclosure over the past two months.
This evidence was confiscated by Sub-Directorate 1 and Sub-Directorate 2 in June and July, namely 607 ecstasy pills and 667 grams of crystal methamphetamine, explained Head of Sub-Directorate 1 of the Narcotics Directorate of the South Kalimantan Regional Police, Pol. Grand Commissioner Attendant Meilki Bharata in Banjarmasin, Thursday.
Located at the South Kalimantan Police's Tahti Directorate, as many as 21 suspects were also presented to witness the destruction of the drugs they circulated.
Meilki explained that the open destruction of drug evidence is a form of his party's accountability to the public.
The evidence has previously been determined by the prosecutor and a small part has been set aside for evidence at trial.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, Meilki admitted that drug trafficking did not necessarily decrease. In fact there is an upward trend from before.
The results of the analysis and evaluation of the police, there is an increase of about five percent from normal conditions. Even networks tend to take advantage of the pandemic momentum to supply their illicit goods to South Kalimantan.
