In addition, the tourists enjoy the beautiful atmosphere of the beach and the beauty of the habitat in the waters. Therefore, it is a shame if the beauty under the sea is damaged. Therefore the illegal fishing must be dealt with firmly," said the East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police Chief.

The East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police Chief said illegal fishing activities using non-environmentally friendly tools could cause huge losses, especially to preserving existing aquatic ecosystems. For this reason, the Directorate of Water and Air Police (Ditpolairud) of the East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police will continue to strive to protect the sea from the threat of "destructive fishing" by carrying out "Illegal Fishing" Operations shortly.

We have scheduled a time for an "illegal fishing operation" to be held in the waters of NTT on a large scale, not only in tourist areas in Labuan Bajo but throughout NTT," said the East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police Chief.

"For the incident in West Manggarai, which is a tourist area, the local police have arrested the perpetrators and will take firm action," said the East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police Chief.
