Inp.polri.go.id – East Java. Mustasyar Executive Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Abuya Said Aqil Sirodj appreciated the Indonesian National Police (INP) for increasing public trust based on the results of the Political Indicator Survey. According to him, an increase in the level of public trust is a benchmark for the success of reforms at the INP institution which is often echoed by the Chief of the Indonesian National Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

"The enthusiasm of the Chief of Indonesian National Police to reform the police force to become a law enforcement agency that is good in the eyes of the public has borne fruit. We appreciate it,” said Abuya Said, Monday (1/5/23).

He added, to restore the image of the police institution is not easy, it takes struggle and hard work. Moreover, recently the INP has been continuously plagued by various kinds of problems which have eroded public trust.

Furthermore, he explained, the high results of the public trust survey on the INP were also due to the police's performance in building communication with the public. This includes maintaining security and public order during the month of Ramadan until the homecoming season and the return of Eid 2023.

"Many people are satisfied with the police's performance in maintaining the smooth flow of Lebaran’s (2023) homecoming. The absence of severe traffic jams in areas prone to traffic jams during the homecoming season as in previous years helped restore the police's image. Even though this year's travelers have also increased significantly after two years of the Covid-19 pandemic," he said.
