Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Pekanbaru. Riau Regional Police uncovered a drug transaction case using a new modus of drive-thru system, just like when ordering food or drink. This raid occurred at a residential area of Pangeran Hidayat street, Pekanbaru.
"We conducted a raid and drug search in two areas of drug trafficking dens of Pangeran Hidayat and Kampung Dalam, " Drug Director of Riau Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Victor Siagian, said on Friday (18/6/2021).
Drug Director of Riau Regional Police said that this raid comes from the personnel's suspicion of alleged drug trafficking in both places. The police then raided the place and found a mask used by the dealer for the transaction.
Houses designated as "drive-thru" places, he continued, was installed hollow iron door to ease the transaction. Moreover, the seller closes their faces with mask during the illicit goods transaction.
"There is a difference on houses having a hollow iron door for drive-thru style transaction. They sell drugs using the drive-thru system: using a motorcycle, give money, accept the drug, then leave", he said.
During the raid, police arrested 15 people and seized 150 grams of methamphetamine, banknotes, and digital scales.
Drugs Director of Riau Regional Police ensures that the uncover of such cases would not stop. Police will keep investigating the seized findings because they suspect that the main dealer controls from afar.
"We will investigate further by interrogating those arrested people because we are confident that the main dealers are not in the location. They control from afar", he said.
Drugs Director of Riau Regional Police also appeals to the public to actively provide information if seeing or suspecting drug abuse in their neighbourhood.
"Basically, we need information and public cooperation to eradicate drug trafficking", he concluded.
