A perpetrator with the initials BAT (58) was arrested by the police at Aro Bridge Sudirman Muara Lembu street, Kuantan Singingi Regency, Sunday (08/29/2021)
The disclosure of this case began with information about the sale and purchase of Sumatran tiger skins in the Singingi District, Kuantan Singingi Regency, to the Call Center of the Riau's Conservation of Natural Resources Agency Great Hall.
Sub Directorate IV Criminal, Riau Regional Police's Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation Agency led by Police Commissioner Darmawan and members together with Conservation of Natural Resources Agency officers then conducted an investigation and observation of two motorcycle units, one of which was carrying a sack on the Sungai Aro Bridge, Sudirman street, Muara Lembu Village, Singingi District, Kuansing Regency.
“Officers then intercepted and managed to arrest the perpetrators of the BAT. Meanwhile, another perpetrator managed to escape by jumping off the bridge and into a thicket of bushes in the dark,” said the Head of Public Relations of the Riau Regional Police, Pol. Grand Commissioner Sunarto, Monday (08/30/21).
Police Commissioner. Sunarto explained that in addition to arresting the perpetrators, a joint team from the Riau Regional Police and the Conservation of Natural Resources Agency also managed to secure evidence of one sack containing the skin of a Sumatran tiger.
"The perpetrators are threatened with a maximum sentence of five years and a maximum fine of IDR 100 million," closed the Head of Public Relations of the Riau Regional Police.
