Riau Regional Police Successfully Secured 2 Recidivists Perpetrators of Curat (Theft by weight)

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Pekanbaru - 2 Recidivists, AN and AH who stole one hundred million money from their victims in Tanah Merah Village, Siak Hulu District, Kampar Regency on (10/07/2021) were arrested by a joint team from the Violent Crimes General Criminal Investigation of the Riau Regional Police, Criminal Detective Unit of Kampar Departemental Police and Criminal Detective Unit of Siak Hulu Sectoral Police in Kayu Agung District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, South Sumatra, Wednesday (18/08/2021)

Head of Public Relations Division of Riau Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Sunarto accompanied by the General Crime Director of Riau Regional Police said the suspect was an old player who had come to Riau on purpose to carry out his actions.

"The perpetrator of AN is a repeat recidivist who was just released from Correctional Institution (Lapas) last March after serving a three-year sentence," Head of Public Relations Division of Riau Regional Police.

He started from the victim Muhaimin who stopped in front of his shop at Perum Taman Duta Mas Blok B.2 No.07 Tanah Merah Village, Siak Hulu District, Kampar Regency, Saturday (10/07/2021) afternoon brought cash amounting to One Hundred Million Rupiah. Using his car, the victim then stopped at a restaurant. The victim, unaware of being followed by the perpetrator, tried to open the victim's car. But it didn't work. Until finally, the victim got back into the car while the money was still lying on the floor of the car beside the driver.

After arriving at the house and parking the vehicle, the perpetrator acted by opening the left car door and taking the money on the floor seat beside the driver. After successfully taking the money package in black plastic, which was placed in the car, the perpetrators AN and AH took the loot and divided the money from the crime as much as forty million rupiahs and twenty million each was handed over to OOB (People search list) as motorbike rental.

"The two perpetrators we print with Article 363 Paragraph (1) to 4 of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of 7 years in prison," explained the Head of Public Relations Division of Riau Regional Police.

Police Grand Commissioner Sunarto appealed to the public to be careful and alert when making transactions, let alone carrying large amounts of cash.

"I urge and remind the whole community to be careful and always be aware of transactions, especially when carrying large amounts of cash. Ask the Police for security. We will provide them to ensure their safety and security," closed the Police Grand Commissioner.
