Grand Commissioner Attendant Hardian Pratama has again disclosed large amounts of methamphetamine. Officers secured a total of 81 kilograms of methamphetamine and two suspects in Pekanbaru.
The two perpetrators are a man with AS (52) and a woman HS (47). They were arrested with 81 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, said Riau Police Chief Inspector General. Pol. Agung Setya Imam Effendi, accompanied by the Head of Public Relations, Kombes Sunarto, Directorate of Drugs Investigation, Pol. Grand Commissioner Attendant Victor Siagian, Sunday (10/17/21).
Riau Regional Police Chief, Pol. Inspector-General Agung Setya Imam Effendi, said that the initial perpetrator was AS in a house on Jalan Swadaya, Tampan District, Pekanbaru City.
The Two-Star General emphasized that his party would never stop and would continue to hunt down drug dealers who try to carry out their actions in the Riau region. He called on all parties to work together in eradicating drugs.
"This is an international network that includes goods from Malaysia, controlled by Agam, an Acehnese citizen residing in Malaysia. The AS, HS and Agam networks are controlled by an inmate in Tangkerang Prison, named Abu," said the Regional Police Chief.
According to him, these drugs will later be circulated in Pekanbaru City, Jambi, South Sumatra or Palembang, and Jakarta.
Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of the Riau Regional Police added that the disclosure began with information obtained by Sub-Directorate I of the Drug Investigation Directorate on Friday (10/01/21) regarding the existence of an international narcotics network.
"The network came from abroad with the target of Aceh-Riau. However, the drug was detected in Pekanbaru City," he explained.
Furthermore, the Head of Sub-Directorate I of the Riau Regional Police's Directorate of Drug Investigation, together with the team, immediately conducted an investigation. As a result, after a long time of stalking, the police finally arrested a man with the initial of AS, whom the officers suspected of being a narcotics dealer.
"After the US was arrested, officers found a conversation via voice note using the Aceh language on his cellphone related to narcotics transactions," explained the Director of Drugs Investigation.
Then on Tuesday (10/10/21), the team searched the US rented house on Swadaya street, Tampan District, Pekanbaru City. The police found 32 packs of methamphetamine stored in the chief's cigarette box in the rented house.
"The US acknowledged that the drugs belonged to someone named Agam (a resident from Aceh) who was in Malaysia," he appealed.
From the US arrest, the police immediately carried out development. Then, the police again arrested another perpetrator, namely a woman whose initials were HS.
"The team had difficulty finding HS because HS' cellphone was turned off. However, in the end, the search efforts paid off. HS was arrested at a hotel in Simpang Tiga Airport," said the Riau Regional Police Chief.
Then, the police interrogated HS. The team found the house key, which was later recognized as the key to the house used to store methamphetamine. The police immediately searched a rented house on Jalan Pasir Mas, Bina Widya Pekanbaru and obtained evidence of methamphetamine.
"The perpetrators were charged with Article 114 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 112 paragraph (2) of RI Law NO 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, with the threat of death penalty or imprisonment for a minimum of 5 years, a maximum of 20 years," he concluded.
