Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Pekanbaru. The Riau Regional Police will hold a simultaneous Independent Vaccination on Wednesday, September 22, 2021. This time, the Police will distribute 9,000 doses to several campuses in Pekanbaru City. This is one of the efforts of the Riau Police to accelerate the achievement of Herd Immunity in the education sector, facing the face-to-face learning process.

The 9,000 doses of the vaccine were distributed by the Riau Regional Police to three campuses in Pekanbaru, including the University of Riau, the University of Muhammadiyah and the Institute of Health Science. Even the simultaneous Merdeka vaccination was also reviewed directly by Governor Syamsuar and the Regional Police Chief's Pol. Inspector-General Agung Setya Imam Effendi, and Military Regional Command Wirabima Brigadier General M Syeich Ismed.

The simultaneous vaccination review took place at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Campus, Riau University. The vaccination was also welcomed by the students, where it became an opportunity for them to get the vaccine, especially since it was prioritized for them. Students are also enthusiastic; even the vaccination has been going on since morning.

On the sidelines of his opportunity, Riau Regional Police Chief, Pol. Inspector-General Agung Setya Imam Effendi said 9,000 doses of the vaccine were distributed across three campuses, including Riau University receiving 3,000 doses, Muhammadiyah University 4,000 doses and Stikes 2,000 doses. Of course, this will be done continuously in other universities.

"Because we want to immediately achieve ideal conditions, namely with 70 percent Herd Immunity. At the same time, campus readiness efforts in the implementation of face-to-face learning are already possible," explained the Riau Regional Police Chief accompanied by the Rector of the University of Riau, Aras Mulyadi.

"We hope that by continuing to vaccinate, it will accelerate us to achieve that goal (herd immunity). Furthermore, I am sure that our cooperation with all elements and the government by working together everything will be realized," continued the Riau Regional Police Chief.

On his occasion, the two-star general also appealed to his community to continue to obey health protocols, keep their distance, avoid crowds, and reduce mobility outside if there is no urgent need. This is important, even though Pekanbaru City is no longer at Community Activity Restriction Enforcement level IV.
