Inspector General Agung Setya Imam Efendi, accompanied by the Deputy Chief of the Riau Regional Police and other key officials conducted a review at the Hajj Dormitory as an integrated isolation place for COVID-19 patients, on Saturday (07/31/21).
In addition to providing motivation and direction, at that place the Riau Regional Police Chief also handed over assistance to patients who were being treated. And together with the Riau Hajj Dormitory Isoter Coordinator, Citra, Agung did a direct inspection of the room prepared as an additional treatment place.
As stated by Coordinator Isoter Citra, the initial use of the Riau Haji Dormitory as a place of isolation only opened one tower, the Musdalifah Tower, which has a bedroom capacity of 246 beds. Along with the increase in cases, his party then added one more tower, namely the Khalifah Tower which has a capacity of 255 cases.
"And the current capacity we declare is full. For people who want to enter, wait in line and contact the call center. As for the patients we have isolated here until June 7 yesterday, there were approximately 800. For those who have been discharged, there are about 400 peoples," explained the Riau Hajj Dormitory Isoter Coordinator.
The Riau Regional Police Chief in his remarks said, since the beginning of the pandemic he and several stakeholders have made various formulations regarding the treatment of Covid-19 patients. Both have comorbid and mild category.
"The current problem is the availability of inpatient rooms in the hospital. Therefore, we want the time span of patient care from the previous 14 days, to be minimized back to 10 days. It can even take up to 6-7 days. With a note, patients who are being treated are still being treated properly until they recover," said the Riau Regional Police Chief.
"Because the existing room will be occupied by our other brothers. Furthermore, from the treatment room that has experienced an increase in health, it can be treated with this isoter,” said Pol. General Inspector Agung Setya Imam Efendi.
The Riau Regional Police Chief hopes that all of them can work together to start building and work together to handle people who are exposed to COVID-19 properly.
