Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Pekanbaru. Riau Regional Police held a press conference on the success of the Drugs Investigation Directorate of Riau Regional Police in arresting the accomplice of an international drug dealer and seized money worth more than Rp1 billion.
The press conference that was held in the Riau Regional Police Headquarter on Wednesday (15/12/2021) reported the arrest, which started from a drug case exposed by Dumai Departmental Police and seized 8.3 kg of amphetamine.
In his statement, Chief of Riau Regional Police, Police Inspector General Agung Setya Imam Effendi, said that after developing the case, the accepted drugs from Malaysia was 30 kg. The first goods seized in Dumai was only 8.3 kg was part of the total delivery. The rest, 22 kg, have been sold in Jambi. After the Police found that the 22 kg of amphetamine was sold, the Drugs Investigation Directorate of Riau Regional Police then investigated the money flow from the amphetamine transaction.
"We conducted an investigation of this trade, and we found that the trading money in Jambi was going to Said. The money was collected and handed over to Debus through Khairul. From the findings, the Police found Rp1 billion 76 million in cash. This money is used by Debus to pay a lawyer related to our previous arrest of the 87 kg of amphetamine conducted by Ahmad, the younger brother of Debus", Chief of Riau Regional Police added.
"Khairul, who has been arrested by Riau Regional Police, is the direct accomplice of an international drug dealer named Debus, which had been the fugitive of Riau Regional Police. Khairul's brother is the accomplice of Debus to receive the amphetamine transaction money. For their actions, Said and Khairul was subjected to Article 137 of Law No. 35 of 2009 about Narcotics and threatened by ten years in prison", Chief of Riau Regional Police concluded.
As information, Debus is an international drug dealer who has managed to smuggle drugs to Indonesia three times. The first one was 200 kg, the second one was 87 kg and the last one 30 kg. All of the illicit drugs were brought by the perpetrator from Malaysia.
